Implants for Dentures

A Secure Fit for Your Smile ‘Stud Fastener Dentures’

If you're struggling with loose or uncomfortable dentures, Implant-Supported Dentures / ‘Stud Fastener Dentures’ could be the perfect solution. This treatment combines the stability of dental implants with the convenience of dentures, offering you the freedom to eat, speak, and smile with confidence. Implants for dentures provide a more secure fit, eliminating the need for adhesives and preventing slippage.

What are Implant-Supported Dentures?

Implant-Supported Dentures use dental implants like ‘Stud Fasteners’ to anchor your dentures in place, providing a firm, stable foundation. Unlike traditional dentures, which rest on the gums and can shift or become loose, implant-supported dentures are securely attached to implants placed in your jawbone. This provides a much more comfortable and natural fit.

This solution is ideal for patients who are missing most or all of their teeth and are seeking a permanent, reliable solution to the discomfort and limitations of traditional dentures.

Natural-Looking Smile
Implant-supported dentures are designed to look just like natural teeth. Your smile will appear fuller and more natural, helping you feel confident everyday.

No Need for Adhesives
Traditional dentures often require adhesive pastes or strips to stay in place. With implants holding your dentures, there’s no need for messy adhesives, making your denture routine simpler and more reliable.

Preserve Bone Health
Implants help to preserve your jawbone by stimulating it just like natural teeth roots. This prevents the bone loss that can occur with traditional dentures, helping to maintain your facial structure over time.

Long-Lasting Solution
With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime, making them a cost-effective and reliable long-term option. Your dentures can be replaced when necessary, but the implants will remain in place, providing a durable foundation.

The Process for Implant-Supported Dentures

From your first visit to ongoing care, we’re committed to making your experience comfortable, personalised, and focused on your needs.

Gentle Touch Dental Implant Studio
Consultation and Evaluation

The process begins with an initial consultation, where we’ll assess your overall oral health and determine if you're a good candidate for implants. We’ll take clinical photographs, digital scans, X-rays, or CT scans to evaluate your jawbone health and ensure there is enough bone to support the implants.

Treatment Planning

Once we confirm you're a candidate, we’ll develop a personalised treatment plan. Together, we’ll design your new smile, ensuring the dentures are a perfect fit for your face shape and lifestyle.

Implant Placement

During the procedure, we’ll place several implants (typically 2-6 per arch) into your jawbone. These implants will serve as secure anchors for your dentures. The surgery is performed under local anaesthesia with optional inhalation sedation to ensure your comfort.

Healing Period

Over the next 3-6 months, the implants will integrate with your jawbone in a process called osseointegration. During this time, you may wear temporary dentures so you can continue with your daily routine while healing.

Denture Placement

Once your implants have fully healed, you'll return to have your custom dentures designed and attached to the implants. These dentures can either snap onto the implants or be permanently fixed in place, depending on your needs and preferences. Either way, you will leave the clinic with a beautiful, stable smile.

Aftercare for implant supported denture

Proper aftercare is essential for maintaining the health and longevity of your new smile. Our implant maintenance programme consists of a 3 month post treatment appointment, 6 month post treatment appointment and annual reviews for 5 years post treatment completion. At these appointments we will assess and review the bone levels around your implants, check your gum health and provide oral health and cleaning advice.

Here are some important tips to follow:

Maintain a Good Oral Hygiene Routine
Just like natural teeth, your new teeth need regular care to stay clean and healthy. Brush twice a day  using a soft-bristled toothbrush and non-abraisive toothpaste. Be sure to clean carefully around the implant attachments (stud fasteners) and pay close attention to the gum areas around the implants to maintain long-term oral health.

Schedule routine checkups to ensure your implants and prosthetic teeth remain in good condition. During these visits, we’ll professionally clean your teeth and assess your overall oral health, making sure your implants are healthy and stable.

If your dentures are removable, be sure to handle them carefully to avoid damaging them. Store them in a protective case when not in use and avoid dropping them.

Avoid Smoking
Smoking can affect the healing process and increase the risk of implant failure. If you smoke, it’s highly recommended that you stop to protect the success of your implants.
